1. Agreement
By accessing or using ByteBattle Escape (“BBE”, “the platform”, “we”, “us”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law to use BBE. If you use the platform on behalf of a team or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that team or organization to these Terms.
3. Account registration
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- One person must not maintain multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage unless explicitly permitted by BBE for a specific event.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or platform rules.
4. Platform use
BBE provides educational Capture The Flag challenges for cybersecurity learning. You may use the platform only for lawful, ethical purposes related to learning and authorized competition.
You agree not to:
- attack, scan, or disrupt BBE infrastructure outside the scope of published challenges;
- attempt unauthorized access to other users’ accounts or admin systems;
- share flags, write-ups, or solutions in ways that undermine active official attempts or event integrity when rules prohibit it;
- use bots, scripts, or automation to exploit scoring unless a challenge explicitly allows it;
- harass, impersonate, or abuse other users or staff;
- upload malware or illegal content;
- reverse engineer or copy the platform for commercial use without permission.
5. CTF rules and scoring
Module timers, official attempts, practice mode, and scoring rules are described in platform instructions and on challenge pages. BBE’s recorded scores, timestamps, and moderation decisions are final for leaderboard and event purposes, subject to review for clear technical errors or rule violations.
6. Intellectual property
BBE content — including challenges, branding, design, and software — is owned by BBE or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive license to access the platform for personal or team learning. You may not redistribute challenge content without permission.
7. Third-party links and resources
The platform may link to external tutorials, tools, or resources. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services. Your use of third-party resources is at your own risk.
8. Disclaimers
The platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis for educational purposes. See our Disclaimer for additional limitations.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BBE and its operators shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the platform.
10. Termination
You may stop using the platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, pose a security risk, or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits) will remain in effect.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local consumer protections apply.
